Even though the summer is flying by, it's been crazy busy and fun! We literally have something planned for every weekend and can hardly stop to catch our breaths. I have recently purchased a bike and we've been strapping the girls in their bike trailer and taking off for 5-8 mile bike rides. It's a lot of fun and we get some great exercise at the same time!
This past weekend we went to the Sherbourne county fair where we spent a lot of money and came away with nothing but tired happy kids. Let me tell you, I can not stand going to the fair because of all the yucky carnie people but of course the girls love the rides so we keep going back. We also had to go the parade, we biked about 8 miles, and we attended a birthday party which was an all afternoon afair. So even though it's all of these activities planned, we are still busy the whole weekend!
Work is another thing...it's finally started to pick back up and I think I was a bit stressed out for the last two weeks. Of course our raise reviews came and went and I was just informed Friday of my pay increase. I was a little more than irritated, considering all of the new responsibilities that are on my shoulders and I suggested my boss go back to the leadership team to re look at it. I told him I was absolutely not happy with my measly increase and he told me to "just be patient" because it will come sooner than I think. I have been hearing this for about two years now and I believe my patience has run out. Especially since our increase was to happen at the beginning of July and they just decided to push it back to the 27th without retro pay. AHH!
Anyway, on to other things...Alex has been extremely busy with her soccer and t-ball. Tonight is her last day of soccer and she had so much fun doing it. She's very athletic and can actually kick the ball pretty good. With t-ball, she is the only girl on her team and she hits the ball and throws it better than most of the little boys. It's hilarious! But she is still a little princess and insists on wearing pink most of the time. Aliyah is being really good lately, except for her sleeping lately. For some reason, she wakes up around 1-2 and keeps waking up every hour crying. So I'm getting a little bit sleep deprived....silly girl!
As for our August, we are almost dreading it because there is so much to do. We have a 40th b-day party, our vacation to St. Louis and Kansas, our anniversary and dinner with friends, a trip to Ben's boss's cabin, another b-day party for Alex, and of course my birthday. I will be a whopping 29 this year and I will be mourning the last year of my 20's and preparing myself to become 30. Ah yes, I am getting soooo old. (Ya right!)
Until next time...
