Secret Kid-Crack

Is cotton candy. We went to a Twin's game on Sunday and the girls begged to get treats to eat. They had their hearts set on cotton candy, which Ben said they could get a bag and then share.

Well, given that their mother is weak I broke down and got them each their own bag. Aliyah got the pink and Alex got the blue. I just loved the dirty look Ben gave me too, when we got back to our seats and he saw they each had their own. Well, he would have given in too, I swear it. Plus, you try telling them no when they each want a different color, there is a mile long line behind you and your kids are holding up the line because their mother won't let them (gasp) get their own.

Anyway, they proceeded to enjoy their sweet treats, diving in with sticky fingers and melting the enamel right off their teeth with pure sugar.

And then...they finished the whole fricken bag and proceeded to bounce off the seats for the next two hours.

OH. MY.

Crazy Tuesday

I hate being sick. Last week I came down with a nasty case of montezuma's revenge. That's right people, what came out of my body was in liquid form for about 4 days, I was nautious, sweaty and ill. Throw into the mix being busy at work and a full weekend of activities planned and you've got one sick worn out person on your hands.

When I get sick, I get hit really hard too. I can ignore it for only so long but by Thursday night I had a fever, the aches and chills and was pretty much bed bound. I made it into work the next day only because my co-worker was gone and I had to be there. Suck. Anyway, our weekend was jam packed, complete with an 80's party for Ben's work to attend where I over did it and ate a ton of food for the first time in days and paid for it later that night and the next morning. But alas, there was no time to lay around on Sunday because we had tickets to go see a Twin's game. I tried to ignore being ill and tired and put on a good show for the kids. When we got home, I still had to do all the laundry, clean the kitchen and do the grocery shopping.

That stuff doesn't get done by itself you know. By Sunday night, I could hardly keep my eyes open. I slept like the dead and woke up feeling amazingly better. Let's just hope it stays this way. And I'm starving, so I plan on eating out today for lunch. Chinese, here I come!!!

Sensitive Alex

She is such a good little girl....she feels people's pain when they are hurting, she will cry for you and most especially pray for you.

The last few days have been hard for Ben and Aliyah because they have not been feeling well, especially Ben. When Aliyah woke up Tuesday morning sobbing because her tummy hurt and she had a raging fever, Ben stayed home with her since he was already feeling poorly.

And Alex walked down the stairs to find me, with her big beautiful blue eyes ushed with tears....her lip trembling....and told me in the most serious voice -

Mommy, I just prayed for Daddy and I prayed for Aliyah to get better. I know God will heal them and make them better.

I just stopped in my tracks and stared at her. What a Golden Heart she has and I've realized her upbringing in a Christian daycare has been payed for a thousand times over.

I am so blessed to have her!
